01/09/20 MBC MEMBERS HELP CORAM’S FIELDS REACH EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN TARGET AND THE NEXT GENERATION OF SPORTS STARS

MBC’s Chairman Ian Roberts took on the 2.6 Challenge by rowing a mind-boggling 2.6 Marathons in 2.6 days in his living room, raising £7,352.63 for our two charities Coram’s Fields and SportsAid.

Our donation has helped Coram’s Fields to reach its Emergency Fundraising target of £50k. You can still support their Emergency Appeal or get involved as a Volunteer. Contact victoria@coramsfields.org.uk.

The three young SportsAid people who will benefit are 21 year-old 400m Athlete Yasmin Liverpool, 18 year-old Rower Jemima Furness and our youngest beneficiary, 15 year-old Boccia player Sophie Anderson. We wish them all the best on their winning ways.

Yasmin dropped us a line. ‘I’m currently applying for jobs with the aim of working and continuing to train full-time. This award will help me to smooth this transition. I plan to put it towards physiotherapy treatments, new kit (a pair of new spikes as my current ones are very worn!), transportation costs for training and sports psychology sessions. I am extremely grateful for this award and the incredible fundraising work of the Midtown Business Club that contributed to it.’

Thank you to everyone who has supported us!
